A Consignment of Limousin semen has been exported to Texas, USA. The semen was sourced and bought through the
semenstore website. The consignment included straws from Milbrook Vic.
The semen was sent from Cogent Breeding Ltd, to the Texas-based company Champion Genetics.
Purchasing the semen was Bob Cummins of Hilltop Farms, who runs the oldest active Brahmousin herd in the United States and has been cross-breeding Brahman and Limousin cattle since 1983.
The bulls were selected primarily on conformation and performance figures, Mr Cummins plans to use the semen on ¼ Limousin – ¾ Brahman females to produce a 5/8 Limousin - 3/8 Brahman calf. This percentage is considered purebred Brahmousin.
